Allah-O-Akbar, Allah-o-Akbar, the Azan was being recited in the Masjid and the Imam started the khutba. He was saying “And one of His signs is that He has created for you, spouses from amongst yourselves so that you might take comfort in them and He has placed between you, love and mercy. In this there is surely evidence (of the truth) for the people who carefully think." (Surah 30, Verse 21).

Once he was done with the khutba, he made an announcement urging parents to meet each other if they have boys or girls who are ready to be married. He gave the example of Huzrat Khadijah (RA); she observed and was the first to approach and sent the proposal to Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). The Imam was motivating parents to reach out to others even if they are the parents of the girl. He wanted to break the stereotype; therefore, he gave the example of Hazrat Khadijah, who proposed first, regardless of her being a woman.

All the women around me seem puzzled and didn’t know who to reach out to or talk to, they had many questions and doubts. I heard someone saying there are no boys, we mostly have girls, where do we go?

That phrase impacted me deeply, I realized that there is a need of a more organized matrimonial service.

And that was the start of WhatsApp group of Muslim Weddings Bells!!!

My partner and friend encouraged me immensely while we used Google Drive to support our endeavors. Building a website was also her idea.

Therefore, Alhumdulillah, Muslim Weddings Bells has now emerged as www.weddingsbells.com and has a vision to help the entire community with viable marriage options.
